Old Shell Road Elementary School students are enrolled in music classes in which they participate in the artistic processes of creating, performing, and responding to music.  Students actively engage in the study of sound, rhythm, melody, harmony, and form while making connections to culture, history, and their own interests and experiences.

Alicia Luttrell

Bio

Alicia Luttrell earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of South Alabama with concentrations in voice and piano and her Master's Degree in education from Belhaven University. Mrs. Luttrell began her teaching career over 30 years ago as a private piano instructor. She has performed with Mobile Piano Ensemble and served as vice-president of the Mobile Music Teachers Association. Mrs. Luttrell has taught children's and youth choirs for several local churches and has served as pianist and organist in churches for many years. She regularly teaches at several summer music camps. Mrs. Luttrell is a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) and is a member of National Association for Music Education and Alabama Music Educators Association (elementary division president). Mrs. Luttrell and her husband have been married for 32 years and have five children.
